Finally, a drinking game without the drinking!

If it wasn’t officially the “party system” before, it sure is now. The Wii is getting a beer pong game for WiiWare.

Somehow, this seems more nerdy than a Warhammer tabletop

Beer pong without beer? Are you supposed to have beer on hand IRL to play? Or does the game simulate the beer drinking experience for you? Will the screen blur and sway for you? Can you choose your character’s path: either that of a violent drunk (which grants you access to the “awkward wrestling match” minigame) or a mellow, love-espousing drunk (bromance dating sim minigame!)? Will the Wii give you those friendly reminders that you should take a break for a while and go outside, and stop drinking yourself to death? Would you be considered an alcoholic for playing this game alone?

More importantly than those immediate questions, we’re left to wonder what other games will we see in JV Games’ Frat Party Games series? Beer Pong has been announced as just the first installment. You’ll have to forgive my ignorance, but what other games are played at fraternity parties? At the only frat party I ever went to, there was beer pong, yes. It was played on an ancient folding table, it’s plywood top cracked and bent at the corners. It was also in the basement, which had nothing else in it. But there were no other organized games. After beer pong, all the guys just flashed their balls at each other until they were drunk enough to start taking body shots off each other. In retrospect, this may not have been a typical fraternity party.
